The two-month countdown is on for baby boy, and we’re finally pulling his nursery together—right as Kennedy starts her big-girl room transition. I was much more prepared at this point with Kennedy (hello, second-baby syndrome!), but we’ll get there. 🙂

I made solid progress this past weekend, and your kind messages mean the world. You keep me inspired to design and to share. Below is the design board and all the sources you’ve been asking for—I’m so glad you’re loving our little guy’s golden retriever nursery as much as I am.

We started with great bones from Kennedy’s old nursery—classic wainscoting and neutral paint that play beautifully with the new wallpaper. No repainting needed!
Walls: Benjamin Moore Antique White
Wainscoting: Benjamin Moore Silver Satin
If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with our first baby—our golden retriever Sadie. The moment I found this adorable golden retriever wallpaper, the theme picked itself. I built the entire room around it. This shop has the sweetest kids’ décor—highly recommend a browse.
Kennedy’s gold crib (still in the room in the progress pic) will move with her, so I ordered wood sage green crib for baby boy arriving in October. Two under two—two cribs—we’ll have our hands full. 🙂
I love the look of plaid rugs in kids rooms, so knew I wanted to incorporate one somehow. I found a lot of great options, but landed on a neutral one which I think works great in the space.
After stalking antique/thrift options on Facebook Marketplace, I chose the tried-and-true IKEA dresser we used in Kennedy’s room—budget-friendly and perfectly sized. I grabbed black/brown and swapped in rattan knobs. for warmth.
I scored a window-pane mirror at local antique store years ago. It used to be a chippy red; I painted it black to echo the dresser. TBD if it’s the final choice, but it’s working for now.
I was inspired by prints from the same shop as the wallpaper, but needed larger sizes. I tracked down the same artist on Etsy, ordered bigger prints, and framed them myself. I mimicked the look I love—wood frames with black mats—and it ties everything together.
I ordered a rattan flush mount that’s currently back-ordered. The texture is going to be such a pretty statement once it’s in.
Reusing the rocker from Kennedy’s nursery. The off-white fabric is neutral and works seamlessly with the new palette.
I’m collecting a few sweet touches and repurposing pieces from Kennedy’s room. I’m so grateful we kept things neutral—it makes transitioning between rooms (and genders!) much easier.
