We’re based in Northern Virginia and serve clients across the DC Metro area, including parts of Maryland. While most of our projects are local, we occasionally take on remote collaborations when the scope and aesthetic feel like the right fit. Because we don’t travel for projects at this time, clients manage on-site coordination while we provide design guidance remotely. Accurate measurements, floor plans, and photos help ensure a smooth process.
The earlier, the better — especially if you’re building or renovating. Ideally, we come on board once you’ve selected your builder or architect but before construction plans are finalized. That’s when we can align finishes, layouts, and details to prevent costly changes later. For furnishing projects, it’s best to reach out a few months before your desired start date so we have time to plan, source, and schedule installations.
Most communication happens through email and scheduled check-ins (calls or meetings), depending on your project’s phase. You’ll also have access to shared folders where all drawings, selections, and updates live in one organized place. Early in the week is typically reserved for client meetings and project calls, while Thursdays and Fridays are dedicated to creative work and design development. We are always responsive during business hours, but we do our best to protect evenings and weekends for family time.
Absolutely. We love weaving in vintage, heirloom, or meaningful pieces that bring character and history to a home. We will help you decide what fits beautifully with the new design — and what may need to be repurposed, refinished, or replaced to create a cohesive look and feel.
Yes — we work closely with a network of trusted contractors, builders, cabinetmakers, and tradespeople throughout Northern Virginia and DC. Depending on your project, we can connect you with vetted partners such as painters, millworkers, or installers who share the same attention to detail. While we collaborate closely with these professionals, we do not serve as a general contractor, and all trades operate under their own independent contracts with the client.
Each project is completely customized. We source from a mix of to-the-trade vendors, custom workrooms, boutique makers, and select retail partners, often layering in vintage finds for warmth and authenticity. The end result is a space that feels timeless, personal, and uniquely yours.
Our focus is on full-service design for renovations, new builds, and multi-room furnishing projects where we can be hands-on from concept through completion. Occasionally, if our schedule allows, we take on Flat-Rate Design Only Packages for single spaces. These are best suited for clients who enjoy the implementation process and simply need a clear, curated plan to follow. They include a full design direction, floor plan, and sourcing list, but do not include project management, ordering, or installation services.
Most projects are billed as a flat design fee, customized to your project’s size and complexity. This covers design development, sourcing, presentations, and coordination. Procurement and project management (if applicable) may be billed separately at an hourly rate. After our initial consultation, you’ll receive a detailed proposal outlining scope, deliverables, and investment.
